Hey everyone! 👋

This is Johann Rudi, Assistant Professor at the Department of Mathematics. I'm documenting my research interests and current and past work.

My typical research projects are interdisciplinary and circle around very large-scale parallel solution of nonlinear and linear systems, like complex viscous fluids, and parallel algorithms for high-performance computing (HPC) platforms. Additionally, I am interested in data science, machine learning, and artificial intelligence (AI) generally. That encompasses, for example, computational solution of inverse problems, and quantification of uncertainties for the parameters that were inferred.

I have been fortunate to collaborate with fantastic folks, not only mathematicians and statisticians, but also scientists such as: geophysicists (Earth's mantle convection), physicists (fusion and femtoscale imaging), and neuroscientists (modeling and inference for biological neurons).
