A Little Bit About Me...
I graduated from Virginia Tech with a B.S. in Mathematics (Applied Discrete option) and a minor in Computer Science in 2008, then graduated again from Virginia Tech with an M.S. in Mathematics in 2009. I've been a faculty member in the VT math department ever since! The two biggest parts of my job are teaching and academic advising. In addition to that, I am part of a programming team for online coursework through the Math Emporium, I evaluate math courses at other schools for VT transfer credit, and run the departmental advising sessions for incoming math majors during summer orientation. A few years ago, I developed our department's First Year Experience courses, Discovering Mathematics I & II. Additionally, our department now has a lower division advising team, which I'm proud to chair.
Outside of my work life, I enjoy hula hooping, cross-stitching, and upcycling furniture. Of course, I also love spending time with my robot-making drone-flying husband, Jesse, (yes, our names are Jess and Jesse), our two babies (one human, one fur). |
